Pen Pal
Friends, this week has been hard. This unprecedented situation has left us feeling helpless and often times the unknowns have felt paralyzing, overwhelming, and dark. But, we’ve been seeing glimmers of hope and beautiful acts of humanity as we all do our part to fight the spread of this virus.
The Birthing Circle wants to help build community in this period of social distancing. We have created a form to match pen pals so we can bring each other cheer and love, but in a way that’s still “distant”. Children are missing their friends and many of us have loved ones in care facilities that are now unable to have visitors. Let’s make art, write letters and spread cheer, the “old fashioned” way and mail each other some love and support. We also would like to collect letters and cards of appreciation and encouragement for health care workers which we will gather and send together (to be sent mid-April). Fill out the form at this link or click on the envelope above. You can sign your child up to match with another child, to send mail to someone in a care facility or both! If you have a loved one who would like to receive mail, there is an option on the form to add their contact info.
Also, if you would like to donate to help offset administrative costs or support our community programs, we would be so grateful. This situation has left us struggling to support our organization because our planned fundraising activities are all large gatherings and we currently are at a standstill with planning and obtaining sponsorship. Any donation is so helpful and appreciated!
